Villa Escudero is a self-contained working coconut plantation, It was founded in the 1880s by Don Placido Escudero and his wife Dona Claudia Marasigan. Originally planted to sugarcane, the crop was converted to coconut by their son Don Arsenio Escudero in the early 1900s. A pioneering agro-industrialist, he built the country's first working hydroelectric plant to supply his dessicated coconut factory and Villa Escudero, where he and his wife Dona Rosario Adap built in 1929.
Their children opened the estate to the public in 1981. From its humble beginnings, the resort has become a prime tourist destination for locals, overseas Filipinos and a wide array of foreign visitors to the country. It has a worldwide reputation as a showcase for the Philippines' rich cultural heritage, offering a beguiling glimpse of its history, cuisine, dress, customs and natural beauty a mere two hours away from Manila.
Here are some random pictures taken from Villa Escudero:
This is where they held receptions, birthdays and other events (I also discovered that they held the reception of Maya's and Sir Chief's wedding here lol)
Check in and information desk, what I love most about VE is that they have the friendliest staff compared to those 5 stars hotel I've been to.
Carabao ride from the entrance to your villas (fun ride!)
The famous man made waterfalls restaurant. The experience of dining on delicious local dishes with the sparkling waterfalls as a backdrop with clear spring water running over your feet is a truly singular and memorable experience only Villa Escudero can offer.
If im not mistaken they have 4 pools, including for kids and adults. They also have a jacuzzi~
They also have a lot of these cute looking statues all over the place.
And the highlight of my experience is the Bamboo Rafting with my friends.
I'm glad that our school arrange this amazing itinerary including an over night stay here in VE, it's such a memorable experience. I will definitely go back *O* Anyhoo, sorry for the lack of photos I didn't took a lot since I want to make the most of my time there. (Sobrang bitiiiiiiiiiin I must say ugh)
